The Marshgate Lane project is a development of student accommodation for Alumno, and will provide 304 rooms, with the ground floor level providing communal space and a total of 225sqm of commercial space. The building is currently proposed to be up to 8 storeys and has a series of landscaped garden terraces, at the various roof levels as the building’s massing steps back.


The development is part of the former 2012 London Olympic site and therefore requires close collaboration with the London Legacy Delivery Corporation (LLDC) to satisfy their requirements as part of the overall planning process. CRE8 Structures is working on both Civil and Structural engineering, and is working closely with the planning consultants to deliver a compliant design, with respect to the surface water drainage strategy and the Flood Risk aspects of the site.

The development is also adjacent to the City Mill River which therefore requires consultation the Canal and River Trust, to address their requirements for surface water drainage, future flood protection measures and discharging into the canal.
