20 Brock Street is a striking 26 storey residential building close to the Euston Tower and marks the North East corner of the Regents Place development site. It is a 150 units development with stunning views across London. The scheme achieved Code for Sustainable Homes level 4. This residential building conforms to the British Land residential brief and is on the corner of Laxton Place and Longford Street. The building was constructed with one and a half levels of basement which linked into the existing Regents Place Estate for common servicing and parking.
The design was led my one of the Partners of CRE8 Structures when he was a Principal at HalcrowYolles London office and the building was completed in 2014 prior to setting CRE8 Structures up.
The structural design of the tower was of insitu reinforced concrete with innovative slip formed walls that enabled the building structure to be built very quickly and for the follow on trades to work close to the construction face compressing the programme. This helped to generate significant programme savings which helped to mitigate subcontractor issues further down the line.
This project was executed in and around the existing Regents Place development. Construction access was limited, and the site was extremely constrained for logistics and welfare space. The management of logistics, whilst the public access and egress from the estate was maintained, had to be thoroughly thought through from an early stage in the design process.
